French Teacher

The successful candidate will work with students, parents and teachers to help students reach their full potential in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. This position will commence late August 2017.

Qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • University degree and additional qualifications in French
  • Ontario College of Teachers Certification
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience (Grades 7-12)
  • Ability to teach other subject areas is an asset
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP)/Diploma Programme (DP) experience an asset
  • Ability to instruct in a laptop environment
  • A commitment to the extracurricular life of the School and must be an energetic team player excited by the opportunity of helping shape the growth of our IB MYP/DP school
  • A current Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and AED

  • Experience writing and implementing IEPs or formal written education plans
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP)/Diploma Programme (DP) experience an asset

Educational Requirements:

  • MACTE approved Montessori Teacher Certification (Toronto Montessori Institute preferred); Infant/Toddler, Early Childhood or Elementary and/or
  • Undergraduate Degree and Ontario College of Teachers Certification with qualifications in French, Physical Education, and/or Music

Additional qualifications experience and attributes:

  • Experience working with children aged 18 months to Grade 6
  • A demonstrated passion for working with children
  • The ability to collaborate and contribute as a team player
  • A commitment to the Montessori philosophy
  • A proven professional approach and work ethic
  • Current CPR, First Aid and AED training

Supply Assistant, Classroom and Extended Care - Lower School (Bayview Campus)

On an on-call basis from September 2016 – June 2017

A variety of shifts are available between the hours of 7:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Bayview Campus

Qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar capacity working with young children
  • Demonstrated passion for working with children preferably in a team teaching environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Current Standard CPR, First Aid and AED training
  • Current medical (record of necessary immunizations)
  • A current Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check
  • Montessori training (Toronto Montessori Institute preferred), RECE or equivalent is desirable
The hourly rate of pay for this position is $15/hr.
