To become independent, children must develop motor coordination and control. In the TMS Children's House the students are provided with large spacious classrooms that allow freedom of movement and opportunities for gross motor development. In addition, students enhance their developing skills with the guidance of physical education specialists. They engage in regular physical education classes that introduce students to age appropriate games that are foundational precursors to lifelong leisure activities and sports. Students are also taught sportsmanship and the importance of practice to perfect a skill. Daily outdoor play for 40 minutes for full day students also encourages a healthy lifestyle, large motor development, cooperation and positive social skills.
