Associate Teacher - Upper School

Associate Teacher

The Associate Teacher will be a recent university graduate looking to be mentored by experienced faculty and will help shape the growth of our School for the 2019-2020 academic year. The successful candidates will be fully involved in the life of the school, and manage a range of duties that may include covering classes for absent teachers, assisting learners in our Learning Strategies Department and coaching our extra-curricular programs. This position will commence late August 2019.

Qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • Ontario College of Teachers Certification
  • Intermediate/Senior qualifications for Math, Physical Education, English and/or Learning Strategies
  • Additional Special Education qualifications an asset
  • Coaching experience
  • Commitment to strong student/teacher relationships

Full-time Custodian - Lower School

TMS Lower School (Bayview Campus) is inviting applications from motivated, inspired individuals for:

Full-time Custodian

Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, the Custodian will be responsible for day to day housekeeping, traffic control at afternoon “Kiss and Go” area and ongoing preventative maintenance at the Lower School. Duties will include but are not limited to: frequent cleaning and maintenance of washrooms, classrooms, offices and other public areas, conducting nightly security procedures, aid in the set-up/clean-up of school functions and assisting with traffic flow.

The successful candidate will be working with a fantastic group of staff and students who are guided by our TMS Ideals of Respect, Strive, and Make Good Choices.

Qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • Able to work steady evening weekday shifts from 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm (summer hours may vary)
  • Previous custodian experience is considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Physically able to perform a full range of cleaning duties including the ability to lift 25 lbs. and to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Experience in heavy duty custodial work (e.g. stripping and waxing floors) is considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • CPR and First Aid Training is an asset
  • A current Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check

Discovery Day Camp creates a sense of wonder and joy through activities that have meaning and purpose and that will to contribute to the development of child’s character, which in turn will make a positive contribution to our global community. Accredited by the OCA, our amazing camp is connected to an internationally recognized school, TMS.

TMS Discovery Day Camp is inviting applications from motivated, inspired individuals for:

Head Lifeguard (June 24 - August 16)

Reporting to the Camp Director, this position is responsible for pool maintenance, monitoring the activities in the pool areas to prevent accidents and provide a safe environment to campers. The successful candidate is also responsible for delivering swim instruction to campers 4-12 years of age as well as assisting with pool maintenance.

The successful candidate will be working with a fantastic group of staff and students who are guided by our TMS Ideals of Respect, Strive, and Make Good Choices.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

●Preference given to those applicants with previous life-guarding experience within a camp and pool setting
●Minimum 2-year deck supervisory experience
●Red Cross Swim Instructors certification
●Current National Lifeguard Service (NLS) qualifications
●Aquatic Supervisory Training (AST) an asset
●Additional aquatic qualifications an asset (Pool Operator, Aquatic Safety inspector, NLS Instructor, Lifesaving instructor, swim instructor, instructor trainer)
●CPR and First Aid Training is an asset
