Grade 1

Welcome to the 2021 Elementary Showcase of Art!  We have curated an amazing collection of samples of artwork inspired by famous artists and created by some of our very own Elementary students.  We invite you to browse through these selected pieces and celebrate the amazing journey of talent of our students.

Students in Grade 1 have created works of art inspired by Wassily Kandinsky, an abstract expressionist artist from Russia in the early 1900’s, Vincent Van Gogh, a Post-Impressionist painter from the Netherlands in the late 1800’s, and Claude Monet, a French Impressionist artist during the late 1800’s. Our youngest students have expressed their creativity through the style of these artists and the multiple mediums used this school year. In these pieces you can see an exploration of watercolour, oil pastel, coloured pencils and coloured markers. Each student has used their own originality in their artwork and the results are very impressive.
