About Discovery Day Camp

For over 60 years, Discovery Day Camp has been creating wonderful camp memories for youth of all ages. From swimming, to robotics, to canoeing, this day camp offers a wide selection of programming that allows campers to really explore and discover.

We are owned and operated by TMS, an independent school in Richmond Hill, and deliver our programming from the Lower School campus (8569 Bayview Avenue).

Meet Our Camp Director
Andrea Tomaso

Andrea has worked at camps for over 15 years in many different capacities including counsellor, programming specialist, unit supervisor and office administration. This is her third year at Discovery Day Camp, where she started as Assistant Director.

Andrea Graduated with her Bachelor of Education and has been a member of the Ontario College of Teachers since 2014 with a focus on teaching primary students. Andrea will work directly with staff and campers to bring new and exciting programming to Discovery Day Camp and looks forward to seeing previous campers, and welcoming new families to Discovery Day Camp for Summer 2024! 

#1: A Fabulous Campus

Discovery Day Camp operates within the Lower School campus of TMS, located at 8569 Bayview Avenue. This campus features airy and open classrooms for indoor programming, an outdoor pool, fields for sports and other recreational activities, a playground, a tournament-level gym and a brand-new dining hall. All of these facilities get used during the summer, providing an elevated learning experience. 

#2: An Outdoor Pool

People like to be outdoors during the summer, and there is nothing better than a heated outdoor pool! Campers can take advantage of multiple swimming opportunities throughout their stay at camp and enjoy cooling off during those hot summer days. 

#3: Lunch Program

Included in registration is the Discovery Day Camp lunch program where campers will get a fresh, hot meal each and every day in addition to snacks twice a day. TMS's new dining halls provide a nice place for campers to relax and have their healthy, freshly made meals in between all the fun. 

#4: Outdoor Excursions

Youth Program participants have the added benefit of outdoor adventures such as Canoeing at Lake St. George or Tree Top Trekking in Stouffville. These unique opportunities provide campers with that true, outdoor experience without the need to book an overnight camp or venture far away from the city. Plus, they make for truly great memories! 

#5: Multiple Programs and Activities

Each camper will experience multiple different activities throughout their time at Discovery Day Camp. From sports, to art, to robotics, there is something new for everyone. Plus, with the facilities at TMS, Discovery Day Camp can provide majority of these experiences without every needing to leave the site (with the exception of the outdoor excursions of course!).
